Re: 'Flash' chrome stripes for beetle

hello everybody,

well, im trying to get my hands on some of the chrome 'flash' stripes for my beetle.

(they are the ones that go down the side of the car and useally they paint it a different colour inside the shape it makes....)

upon making a few enquires though, i have found out that there were 9 different styles made!!!!! and this was only in Australia apparently!!!! would anybody have photos of these different stripes? that would be great

thanks

PS: if u still dont know what im talking about, have a look at empi's post in buy sell titled 'SPATZ' there is a pic of one in there...... :) )

Have a look at the pics in the "VW family from way back" topic in General Chit Chat section.

Flash strips

I have two sets and could be encourage to part with one set. They are both different. Empi produces some coloured panels that went under the strips instead of painting them. These were in bright colour on aluminium (red, blue, green and yellow etc) with fine ribs. I know a guy who has two sets in red and blue but will not part with them as he can't be bothered looking thru his stockpile for them until he retires.

Chrome strips

I could be persuaded to part with a set for $200 complete with clips and as I don't have a pic can bring them over to the weekend affair next weekend and you can see them then if possible or will bring them over for the swap meet at the Day of the VW in November. volma1

Chrome Strips ???

Are we talking about the chrome bits that go on the side and teh bonnet of the bugs here ??

If so what year bug have you got ??

I have some lying around and maybe able to help you out. Let me know.

As for cost, you can have em if they are what you are after cause they don't fit on my Manx.
Also look at buying some of these cheap bugs around, many of them have all teh strips and you can get them cheaper than $200.

Chrome strips

No Brad I'm pretty sure that he is after the kits that allow you to put a coloured flash along the side of the car not just the run of the mill chrome strips as on all cars. volma1
