Andrew kindly went looking for and reinstated lost threads......
He also stated that we can go looking and then pass info onto admin guys and they will drag out lost threads etc.....

Yeah, I wrote a program which grovels the database for posts which have a thread ID with no matching thread record.
These posts are orphaned and you can't access them unless you know how.
So once found, the code creates a new dummy placeholder thread record (which is why it has the strange title), and re-attaches all posts with the same
ID to that dummy thread.
There are still some 810 orphaned posts, but they're all single post threads (ie no one replied), so I think they're of limited interest.
