What does a 70/71 fastback weigh?

then subtract the weight of a type 3 engine, add the weight of a type 4 engine , - type 3 gearbox + kombi box + turbo + intercooler - rear seat + sheet of aluminium + frame horns + steel mounts + sway bars, + wheels - drums + discs ....

If you only know the first bit then that is fine.

Depends on the type of patrol.
If it's a wagon, the kerb weight of the vehicle.
If it's a ute, 2/3 of the gross weight.

what blown turbo? I've never blown a turbo. or do patrols blow turbos?

Its OK I found this at NRMA: Maximum towing limits specified by Nissan are 2800 kg for the manual transmission models and 2500 kg for those fitted with automatic transmission. Legal requirements in NSW however, limit the towing mass to 1980 kg for all models.

More than enough for me considering my trailer weighs 410. It will cost in the ballpark of $440 to have it brought back on a truck so, might have to scab my dads 4by.

But then again if I take another engine up there.....

It hurts to much to think about it. im going back to the books.

Brad, that's got to be the kerb weight (nearly full tank of fuel + person + small amount of luggage aboard), rather than empty weight.

i know they are somewhat heavier then bugs, and considering a 76 bug is around 850kg, i would say around the 1000 - 1100 sounds pretty ballpark.
