See Photos - 2 dusty Ghias in a Shed!!

It just goes to show you never know whats hidden away in thore dusty sheds.

For five years I have driven past this shed! Then last weekend I followed up on a tip I got during a semi-drunk conversation I had with a local about VWs.

And this is the result - two tired late '59 Ghias. They were put in this shed 20 years ago. The blue one to be rebuilt the other for parts.

Unfurtunately although undercover the dust and humidity has got to them so what might have been a reasonable rebuild back in the 1980's will now take quite a bit of effort.

The owner tells me that they are his retirement project and that he plans to start in a year or so.

Have you checked out any local sheds of late - you never know what might be lurking inside!!

Thanks for loading up the pictures Steve. Yet to master the fine points also thanks to Dave who was going to load them up.

Its a shame the owner didn't put a tarp on the Ghias 20 years ago as at least the dust could have been avoided.

The blue Ghia has a real 80's look. Wide wheels, pumped out guards (!) and even a 'custom' padded dash face. It does have a nice accessory wooden steering wheel (flat not dished so probably 80's vintage). The pan seems to be suprisingly solid.

The green Ghia has been stripped inside apart from the dash. A VDO taco sits where the clock goes although it is a neat fit although I think someone has placed a VDO Taco into the original clock housing.

This is a big resto job, however on reflection probably not as big as the trouble I went through!!
