Jak and I racing at Eastern Creek Sunday 11/9

Jak and I will be taking on the Porsches at Eastern Creek tomorrow. I don't think we'll kick there arses like we did at Wakefield Park. The Porsches are much better suited to the faster tracks. We only use 3rd and 4th and as you know they're not ideal gears in a standard gearbox.

It will be fun though. Hope to see some of you there.

Had a ball.

Both Jak and I are faster in different areas of the track. We decided to wait for eachother on the outlap so we could chase eachother for the other laps. We had a ball.

Our poor little aircooled engines struggled to do 4 laps of Eastern Creek without overheating. I normally pulled off half a lap early. Between the two of us we have wings, huge oil coolers, thermo fans, ducting and various other tricks to keep our engines cool. Nothing worked convincingly in the 30 degree heat.

We could've been pulling 180 down the straight. I was a little quicker down the straight but Jak has got more bottle than me through turn 1 and under brakes so that's where he was faster. Around the back section Jak was faster into some of the corners and I was sometimes faster out. Basically we could sit on eachother's bumpers. We'd probably have great passing duals and bump eachother off the track if it was in the regulations.

It was absolutely brilliant. The porsche guys loved watching us and said we should bring our mates along. SO WHO ELSE IS COMING TO JOIN US NEXT YEAR. HERE'S THE INVITE.

Here's a picture of my car at Eastern Creek with it's new 15 x 7s.

Is that run with the Porsche club or is it a Drive day? I know of a guy with a subi powered kit car that was out there last weekend I think. I might bring the Spyder out next meeting, do I need to have registration as it's not there yet but set up for racing?

Spyder-WISD 07-09-05 11.6s @ 125 MPH

Speedster-WISD Nats 05 14.4s @ 89 MPH

Jet cruiser-Coogee 22-09-05 900 deg C @ 110,000 rpm

Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals....................Except the Weasel.

I don't know about the subaru powered kit car.

Jak and I run in an associated class. It's a bit unfair because that's basically anything that doesn't have a porsche badge. We do pretty well in that class but we're up against a PRB clubman which even kicked arse on the porsches at Wakefield park. He did a 1.04 compared to my 1.18. So we might have to push for a seperate class.

That's the last porsche club super sprint for the year. We had another beetle join us on the weekend which was good to see. One of the organisers said it was great to see the 3 beetles going down the straigt. I think that was when I passed him with Jak chasing me. That means there would've been 3 passing manouvers between the straight and turn 2 because Jak got me under brakes.

Anyway we want to get a few more vws out ther next year. If anyone wants to join I'll talk you through it just send me and email. I'd suggest your car has disk brakes, suspension work like konis and a couple of swaybars and a modified engine even if it's mild.

P.S here's another picture of my car from the day

awesome day

What can I say? If u want a buzz, take your car down Eastern Creek Straight & keep your foot into it around the sweeper at the end.!
After every run, CT & I would get out of our cars, take our helmets off, look at each other & just burst out laughing!!! We had a ball!
