A tree fell on my single cab..
The sc was innocently sitting in the back yard sunning it's self... when the neighbours giant "rotten" mango tree decided to fall
over... got off quite lightly considering...but she's now sporting a basin size dent in the roof and numerous others dents and scratches.
So, I'm looking for a quality panel beater in the brisbane area that would be up to the task of knockin it back to shape... anyone here know of a
good one?

On the topic of who's paying....well, the neighbours got hm from their holiday a couple of hours ago... kinda felt for them having to deal with
me before they unloaded the car but anyway...
all sympathy disappeared when questions of responsibility arose.... quote " it's not our fault the wind blew our tree over and your car was
in the way" grhhhhh
lol well we agreed to talk again when I have an idea of the repair bill and they figure out if they're liable.... shit fight in the making me
thinks?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but in NSW and I assume other states too if a tree falls down into a neighbours yard you need to prove that the
neighbour knew it was rotten etc and going to fall. Basically impossible to prove. I used to work in a claims environment and the only case i ever saw
that was paid was because the neighbour had written to the council to cut the tree down because and aborist said it was dead and dangerous. The
council disagreed and then it feel on the neighbours house. The council was sued by the insurance company no problems because they could prove that
the owner of the tree did know and had tried to do something about it. Council stopped therefore they were negligent. Guess in this case all you can
do is be nice to your neighbours and hopefully they may feel sympathetic and give a little help cash wise. Still it pisses you off.

yep your right type_one, discovered this morning the neighbours aren't responsible for any damage caused by their tree being blown over.... even
if the thing was obviously rotten!
I really do not believe it’s fair though…. I mean accidents happen right? Insurance is about compensating the cost of accidents… my property got
damaged by their property…how can the fact that it was blown over by the wind absolve them from any responsibility? Shouldn’t it be the owner’s
tough luck…not the victims!???
What if the tree fell on my girlfriend? I’d like to see the insurance guy give me the “oh it’s just your tough luck son” line again! ;-)
Anyways, will let u's know how the cookie crumbles

Thats really not fair ... i hope you have some nice neighbours and that
they at least offer to help out a bit with repairs, liable or not!
at least at this time of the year the tree isnt yet loaded with mangoes making the dent big, sloppy and sticky. on the bright side (a very dim bright
side) its going to be at least 30 years till another tree gets that big so you have plenty of time to find somewhere else to sun the SC! |

it sounds like it's repairable, which is a real plus! unfortunately things like this just happen sometimes....
i lost my pride and joy, '73 westfalia camper, which i had spent over four years restoring..... it was in a friends barn when the roof collapsed,
a reinforced concrete roof the bus was totalled....
