2lt g/box on a 1800
Will a 2lt gear box bolt onto an 1800 without changing the fly wheel and starter motor :jesus

the flywheels and starters have the same number of teeth for the 1800 and 2lt, so that's a good sign.
I know the 2lt pressure plate would hit an 1800 starter. Because the 2lt starter has it's one way clutch set further back to clear the more
protruding 2lt pressure plate. So an 1800 pressure plate with a 2lt starter should be fine, but a 2lt pressure plate and an 1800 starter would
clash.
So going by that it would seem to be ok. The part I am not 100% sure on is how the depth of the bellhousings will effect it. It's how far in is
the starter that you are worried about. If the starter is the same depth in on both you are fine. Just measure it.

Yes if you use an 1800 bellhousing, may have to change to the 1800 input shaft too.

I am pretty sure when the 2lt box was put in ours, the bellhosing was taken off the 1800 and used. The same clutch and starter were also used.
I was not charged for any parts other than sundries like a clutch cable, thrust bearing etc. I couldn't imagine the mechanich changing anything
else for me and not charging for it, seeing as I supplied the 2lt box.

An 1800 engine will bolt up to a 2 litre gearbox if you change the bottom studs in the engine case and use a 2 litre starter. The bellhousing is
longer but the input shaft and starter are longer to suit.
Its no big deal changing the bellhousings over if you have some straight circlip pliers and a 13mm socket.
