Future Restos???

As Ovals and splitties early type III's and KG are becoming harder to come by and the price for a clean one increases, I pose the question to you all:

What are the Volks entusiasts of the future going to restore?

Are late model Ambulance Transporters slammed going to be the go?
Or what about a fully original Red Bull promo Beetle?

4 Motion Bora's with white walls and wood slat roof racks?

Hi

I saw a fibreglass ghia made in the UK, that would be nice, maybe someone would make fibreglass bodies for bugs, mmm no rust to fix forever or maybe a 356 or spyder like Peter has.

Steve, I've already been to see those Ghias when I was back in the UK. They are based on a 70 model with the medium sized tail lights. Got some pics at:-

Id rather drive a safe all metal one!:D

No way I will restore any "late" VW. I dont care how much it costs me, Pre 67 type 1/2 or pre 70 Type 3.
I want a vert!

I think the drip, drip, drip feeling will get me focusing more on the earlies, and away from the later models. I have a plan, and am crossing my fingers that something special is still for sale.

Phuture Resto's

Way back in the early 90's I got into type 3's cause they were cheap, like early wagons for $300 pretty rust free and requiring little mech work, not so any more!

The most logical equivilent that I can see today is the PASSAT from the seventies, dirt cheap and can be found in pretty good shape for a few hundred, plenty of parts in the wreckers.Got its own uniqe carracter, MMM the TS, some period 13' alloys and you've got instant style.

Runs for cover!:D

has there been a major price decrease in these Bus c k? Anyone?

'Cause it's funny how around15 years ago, you could see KG's for $2,000 and caryards couldn't get rid of 'em!

And I see this with Porsche 924's - nobody wants 'em. I mean it's not really hard to see why, but fasion is a funny thing.
