am i the only one not watching the arias
Hello folks
Im at the paint stage of my 67 bug, por'ed the pan. body back to bare metal and etch primed etc. just wondering if anyone has any tips in
sanding/ cleaning the area under the rear louvres below the rear window?

hey, if they are anything like the indents on the rear pillar of the square type 3. i couldnt sand them cus i couldnt get my fingers in there..so i
used a 3M quick strip disk. goes on ur drill and will strip the paint back to bare metal and polishs it ready for etch...i did that...got all the
paint out..then i etched...and i primed..but then i really layed the primer in..so it came up really thick..rippled on the outside...but on the indent
it was smooth...ready for sand..then paint..

i had this problem could not find any thing small enough to go through the louvers (GRILL)..the vw i bought had a engine fire and it was all surface
rust in there .. toyed with removing the louvres but could not get a hold of a spot weld remover bit .. so i degresed it with high preasure to clean
it then pored some rust converter in and used a art paint brush .. you know like a pensil .. painted it with the same . the spray paint would not get
in there .. unless a paint shop could do better ? best of luck

what about poring in paint striper and washing out with high preasure water ... just a thought...get it back to metal
