Sorry to say it's about 90 minutes to two hours East of the airport. Worse is that there's no rail service, so hiring a car would probably be the go.

How many ppl are thinking of coming down?

Gorgeous surroundings! It's freeways most of the way there, so it's fairly straightforward. And the drive that takes you from the main roads to and from yarra glen is beautiful.

Go down the Tullamarine FWY than turn left at the Cheese sticks and get off at FLEMINGTON ROAD. Go left up Elliot rd go past the Zoo, then go across Royal Pde and go past the Cemetary.
Keep going down this road it becomes Princes st and then it becomes Alexandra Ave to the Eastern Fwy go all the way down the Eastern Fwy to Springvale road.

Turn right into Spring vale Rd than drive to the second set of lights,It's a major intersection with Mc Donalds on your left and turn left into Maroondah Hwy.

Follow Maroondah Hwy through Ringwood, Croydon, Chirndside, Lilydale, Coldstream when you get to Coldstream vear left into Melba Hwy and drive about 5 minutes to Yarra Glen. Hopefully they will put signs up this year to direct you to the race course. But you cant miss it, it's a big green Horse track behind the shops on the low side of the hill.

OK I've added to the title of the post.

Is it OK or do you want a change?

I could get it to sit up top for a while so it doesn't disappear off the page:)

What time are you thinking of flying in??? Have you booked yet?

http://www.virginblue.com.au/

I'd offer a lift but I'm almost at the venue from where I live and I'll help out on the gate again & on a table to give someone a break etc.

Oh, and also be early for the swap!!!!:thumb

thanks for the potential lift from the airport but the way I see it if you can afford the cost of the airfare then you can afford the cost of the hire car or don't go.
