Sooooooo.......hard to say???
It all depends on
valves
seats
guides
flycut - piston seating
It is worth anything this motor you would at least get a valve job, new exhaust valves and a fly cut
Otherwise throw em on and see what happens

As Blue says, so hard to say!
If you do just put them back on, keep an eye on valve clearence and compression for a while. If they remain consistant they may last for ages, if they
start to vary, I'd be getting that other motor ready quickly.

Is there any blow marks on the heads where the old cylinders were leaking???
Is there any lip you fan feel where the head mates against the cylinder that will cause a non flat sealing surface???
With the springs off how sloppy are the exhaust valves in the guides???
Do you have the stuff to at least do a valve grind and seat the existing valves???
yep = whack it in start her up and stand back
Check the valves weekly and monitor it.

My vote is to buy new or reco heads now, use them on your current motor, then throw them on the new motor when you're ready to swap them over.

hmmmmmmm... okay, i'll do a bit more investigation. re: valve guides. (thanks blue) and alot more thinking as to which way to go.i thought i
might be able to just slap them on but if theres more work maybe i'll just do without the wheels a little longer and do it all properly now, or
try anyway!
