I use Jif works a treat!
Had them for like 6 months and they are bright as ever

Use an automotive Wax + Grease remover to clean them first-then apply Turtle Wax Tyre Shine to seal them.
By 'scrubbing' them you are actually creating more work for the future as you are giving the surface more tooth for dirt to adhere
