my car...err...project...lol
hey all...i havent posted anything of my car in this forum yet...cus i have been waiting on the pics...and i have finally finished the paint..cept for
the front...but thats gonna be done quite soon...
but here is what i started with:

....sorry about that...lol...i only just got it...and it wasnt very pretty...but then! i learned how to paint...and it became bearable:

and now just this week!! :thumb i have painted the car...and i am most
impressed with the result. i havent actually painted before...except for the inside..and that came out awesome..

so thats it now...all i have to do is the guards...and hopefully they wont be too much trouble...:o + the doors...so i still have a bit to go..but i
am gettin there..its gotta be on the road by the end of this month...early december...
i hope to get more pics up soon, because i intend to start the carpeting next week..black carpet with yellow trim:thumb
also i am putting the windows in with my brand new hoodliner me an my mum made out of jet black vinyl..took us about 5 hours...but it looks really
good...
hope my almost finished car...i mean project isn't to bad..becuz i have seen some very very nice cars here being resto'd..like
68autobug's bug...very nice..
but yeh..what do u guys think?

Good on ya Jonno!
Another VW saved, nothing makes ya feel better than doing something yourself, and you just learned a whole lot of new skills.
Cant wait to see the finished car!
she is definately looking very good.
Well done....:thumb

lookin good jonno! my square is slowly getting to this stage & I'll be doing some painting myself too!
I notice that your rear apron has been cut. Did you do this yourself?? My apron is stuffed & I can't find one anywhere, I was thinking of
cutting the bent bit off mine too.
Good Work!:thumb

yellow t3's are coool.
just dont park it near a busy intersection on a rainy night... sigh.
its amazing how freakin bright a yellow paint job can look when first done.. especially in the sunshine. i had a brief moment of "oh no, what
have i done, its too bright" when we first finished mine, but then i thought, "nah, is bright is good".
good luck, be careful drivin her on your p's....

yeh thanks guys!:thumb...i will watch the car on the p's...i'm installing a battery cutt-off switch as well as an imobiliser...so no ones
gettin away with it...and i am NEVER!! parking it on an intersection...after reading ur thread noonan... ....not a good thing dude...
but yeh..my rear apron..lol funny name, but it was stuffed when i got the car...and my dad said rather than waste time mucking around with it..(my
dads currently connecting his large angle grinder up and putting on goggles while sayin this too me..) he switch's it on...cuts along the
seem...turns it off an says...it'll look much better like that..and it does!:bounce
it will also expose a lot of my new exhaust so yeh...be good...i did hoever add to it with about 4 layers of fibreglass and some bog and i rounded the
corners off...just to make it...i dunno...cooler..lol

A nice ceramic coated exhaust would look the goods! I'll probably hack mine off too, luckily the damage is below the bumper, so it shouldnt look
too obvious.
