'61 Split, next project? or sell on?
I just picked up this gem, came fron out west, last rego was '81. has a few dents and a little rust in the outer sills and a couple of small
holes in the floor, and thats it.
It is very complete and original, even still has the key in the ignition.
Check the pics.
mmmm the big panel, never been hit.
There is a couple of dings on the LH side, but nothing bad.

sure its a '62? it has the lights of a 60/61 and no fuel guage. only aftermarket.
if you dont keep it and want to sell it on to me at a fair cost (ie no mark up ) i would be interested. thanks.

Build date is October '61, that makes it a '62 model.

The chassis number on this one is 661230,
I just double checked it on Vintage bus and it was made in Oct '60, so it is a '61.

My nose isn't twitching!
Very nice dave! I obviously have do not have the correct 'nose'! I've never found a bus as clean as this one looks - mine seems to
work as an iron oxide detector!
It's clean in the rear of the front wheel wells and around the jack points etc? Obviously stored inside?

I found some old paperwork under the seat with the original owners name and address on it. turns out it came from just up the road from where I grew

Spent the weekend working on the new van, cleaning all the dust and mud from the engine bay and under the chassis, what a job, but no nasty
surprises.
There must have been 4 inches of dust around the fuel tank.
Pressure cleaning the mud off the bottom, Iam sure it weighs 20 KGs less now!

I have the new sill sections coming from Andrew in SA, and need to fix a couple of holes in the flood in the back and it should be rust free then.
