TYPE 3 wood slat? Please help Identify

I recently purchaced a really nice flat four or flat four copy vintage rack .It was supposedly for my Kombi . However its too small . I think it may be for a type 3 wagon, it would fit a gutter width of 1.3 meters give or take a little , (not really that adjustable ) so its like nearly 120 mm smaller than the kombi ggutters . It also has a very slight gentle curve from front to rear. Any ideas>? can someone measure gutter width of a type three for me? Regards Mitchell

I'll check on mine. Do you want to get rid of the rack if it does fit a square??

How much?? Also I'm away for a few days & can't check the car until Tuesday, so if anyone else can measure up a square in the meantime we'll see what happens.

Thanks guys , It wouldnt be hard to get it to fit a wagon at 1180 or 1200 . I am in contact with the guy re what to do , he recons he measured it and it will fit , he measured a later kombi not a split but i recon that they are the same , besides there is not enough height to clear a kombi roof late or early. Nah type 3 wagon smick cost me $350 plus $88 courier fees duh.
Any one got the spec for a beetle?
Hey kombi kid Dave is sending me a suction cap rooffy to match the rat oval (if he can fit it in)

Bought it off the forum, from Brisbane.
M
Anyone got the widths for a beetle?
I am quite sure it will go on a type 3 square without much modification.
Give us a ring on 0422 802 199 if you are interested.

Bit worried about being able to remove over 100mm to fit the rear of the wagon. I'll prbably have to give it a miss, thanks anyway.

Not meaning to butt in but when you all measured did you measure with the tape flat on the roof from side to side as this will add extra cms to the measurement. Remember the rack sits flat and the legs go down onto the curve of the roof. Basically I think you would need to put something flat on the roof and then put your tape on this and visually see where it would meet the rain gutters. Does any of this make sense? Basically I am saying if you measured with the tape on the curve of the roof from rain gutter to rain gutter it will measure bigger than the specs on the roof rack probably say because of the upward curve of the roof. Anyway just my two cents worth. Please don't attack me my nerves can't take it. Now where are my happy pills.
