Hottie 1300cc

So, i want to make a sweet little 1300 engine for the beetle... bit of old skool performance

i wana stick some dual stock carbs, Fram filter,

what should i do to make it a little hottie 1300?

things i can think of .... duno how much any of these would work but eh

larger valves, 009 dizzy, home ported heads, 1600 rockers?

anything that i can do basically myself wouldbe cool.... just a little project for the holidays

ALSO would the 1300 fanshroud fit onto a 1500 engine? fooling the un suspecting viewer and giving me a larger engine to play with even tho the 1300 is more of a challenge :)

cheers
adz

You could run '74 1300 pistons, they have a domed top for more compression, 1500 single port heads( bigger valves), you would need to make spacers for the outside of the 1300 barrells, so they fit the heads, make some manifolds and run two 30 pic carbs, and a good extractor system.

Probably make similar power to a stock 1600 single port??

Same size as a twin port I think, maybe the exhaust valve is a bit smaller?, not sure.
You could clean out the exhaust port a bit.
