I have used acrylic primarily in the past....a lot cheaper than 2 pack but it does need more "elbow grease" after it comes off the gun - that is you have to spend time colour sanding (ie. rubbing it back with very fine wet and dry, then buffing with a polisher/sander, then swirl remover, then polish)....the white sides on my beetle are acrylic (easy to use - only have to mix paint and thinners) - I think about $40 a litre roughly. Pros may be able to get a finish without any colour sanding though.

The grey on my beetle is sprayed in two pack and after it came off the gun there has been nothing done (no colour sanding) - but a little harder to mix (three variables to get right - paint, hardener and reducer)...a friend of mine sprayed to top coat for me and I just did the prep work, but next time I will be doing it myself. It is however about $80-90 per litre (I used two litres for three coats on my car)

You need a good water trap for your compressor to eliminate moisture from the lines - that is a must, plus a regulator of course.
