Birthyear music

I'm working on a CD of music that was released in 72 (same year as my dub) because i have a CD player but no cd's :/

so far i have

american pie - don mclean
Horse with no name - america
rocket man - elton john
take it easy - eagles
stairway to heaven - led zepplin
i can see clearly now - johnny nash
imagine - john lennon

also released in 72 (and top of oz charts at some point in 72) was:

sylvias mother - Dr. hook
ernie (the fastest milkman in the west) - Benny Hill

both of those are cool and i like em but thats the sort of music best enjoyed in private.

any suggestions? obvious misses? or really good inclusions? thanks.

i reckon everyone should have a CD (or tape) of music from their era if they like it anyways.

Great idea Physcho (can't help pronouncing your name fish-co!)

I have quite a few cds from the 60s that I play in Wolf(65 beetle).

Music

Who cares about the year, you have made some excellent selections!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong with Sylvia's Mother? Dr Hook was great in their day - even went to a concert to see them in Brisbane (Am I getting that old??) Still have the records to prove it.

Were any of the Carpenters songs released in '72 - its worth a look. Also check out Skyhooks (not sure of the year though)

nothings wrong with Dr. Hook. i actually brought a record of theirs. (I swear thats not normal for someone my age...). They are still great. and i do love the skyhooks. it's just at the moment i'm trying to get stuff from the year my car was born. from music, movies, T.V. shows etc. I've printed a few movie posters. - Diamonds are forever, Poseidon Adventure and solaris and distributed these in the car. i'm trying to make it a time warp sort of thing.

Super Seventies.com has been invaluable.

i do have other music it's just a side project. i figure alot of people try and get all the correct parts for a car, so why not get other correct things too?

the next step? a few old fashioned coke bottles and other sort of stuff from the early 70's. now if only there were drive ins... (there was one oooh, dunno, 200m from my house, you could sit on the roof and watch the movie i reckon, but the closed it just before we moved house).

if anyone is curious i found this site to be really helpfull as well. (australian/UK/US pop music charts from the late 50's)
