Some early ones

Found some pics of some of my VW's in the early days. The green '62 I modified about 1974 with a 1600TP from a wreck and cut the front tube to lift it.The front guards on the back was a last minute thing late one friday to take it to Wilcania pig shooting. They stayed for about 3 years.I had restored the Oval in '68 with a 1500SP Type3 motor and trans.I had the heads reworked with bigger ports and valves and a set of twin Holden carbies that Ken Virgin used to sell.I cut the Oval in half late '77 and fitted all the running gear into it from the green '62 and used that for bush work until I put all the mechanicals into a '67 Kombi with some serious rear mudguard rework. The pic of the ute has my lad in front when he was about 2-he's now 27.Don't have any pics of the Kombi, but remember having to change the trans out,so found one from a late swingaxle Type3 and turned the crownwheel around and fitted up the reduction boxes and it used to sit on 60MPH easy and get real good economy

Wow. with a little re-working front guards on the rear could be the next big thing! the lines in the rear shot work pretty nicely (besides the gaps):D how hard were they to fit?

Too long ago-don't remember it taking very long-think some holes needed redrilling. If only the big tail lights were about then-would be easy to adapt.
