GGGGGRRRR!!!!.....Mk 2
:cry :cry :cry
:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing:cussing
http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=13301
Back in September i posted this
Since then i had a slash in
1) the front of Daisy late November
2) the front of Blue early December
3) both passenger side Boxind Day night
4) a rear on Daisy and a rear on Blue the next night
Since then i have taken all good tyres off and put crappers on (legal - just not my new Pirelli P7000's)
I park on the street (no garage). I could get the beetle and kombi in the front yard but only the beetle side has cement/brick tracks plus it is in
the way.
I have reported it too the police but as i dont know who is doing this there is nothing they can do. I have an "idea" as to the area of
residents that is guilty but cant point the bone at anyone in particular.
The last time i heard one tyre go off and i ran out. About 10.30pm at night. I could hear the other tyre going down. I must have just missed the
:cussing'ers. The was a party going on across the street and there were kids running round but when you ask them they say Santa do it, a bearded
old man do it and the bad kids down the road do it.
In other words they were no help. I can only strongly guess it is a local drop kick kid who thinks it is funny
What pissed me was it was the very next night.
Nothing since then but i have been away in Daisy and i put blue at my parents.
I have a flood light shining on the cars now.
I dont have a video camera so i cant set that up and at the moment it is not worth spending $2000 on a camera that i dont want to catch this
:cussing'er.
I am considering sleeping in the van - but i have to work.
It is more the pisser of it. The last time i was going to go the beach with the kids on the Saturday but had to run round getting tyres. Then the same
thing happens on the Saturday.
AGR have been great with tyres and Richard Holzl and Steve (Sick68) have been helping by supplying some dud wheels to run. Cold cash it has cost $600
and at the moment i have better tyres for it (so it is not JUST the $$$ ) - I JUST WANT TO BELT THE CRAP OUT OF THIS :cussing'er!!!
Anyway i have got this out of my system.
Just pissed cause i aint running my Boxsters at the moment. 16" are to dear to replace!. Steve has lent us a set of Cookies which is great and
they are 15" which we have some old tyres for - so if it happens again (i will burst into tears in a fit of rage!) it wont be as dear to
replace.
Any way Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Do yoiu have.....
First of all: do you have insurance??? If so go and claim your tires through you insurer.
The other thing is re the computer as previously discussed by 1.8T, you can hire/purchase one of the better CCTV Infer Red cameras, hook it up in a
descrete place and borrow someones 120GB hd and record the night away. Or if you are that hell bent on catching the little turd, go hire an
investigator....a little $$ however the photo's taken will be reputable and hold up in court if you go down that parth.
Last but not least, even though you want to , don't put a finger on him/her....I did something very similiar and got in more shit then the early
settlers......from the law and from his MOM and DAD. (My little Johny is a good boy....he would never do anything like that...We are charging you with
assault!)
Dude, I can sympathise with you, good luck with your endevours, and if you want any ADVICE (wink wink...nudge nudge) U2U me.
Regards

Sounds like you've already covered it with the flood light but a high wattage (if that is the right word) sensor light might help deter the
bugger.
Or maybe a clearly visible note on the window that there is a camera recording the activity around the car - may be a dud idea because it may provoke
them!

Hey Blu that sucks
Take a look at this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3066051258&categor...
and this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3068980915&categor...
The video card is superb jaycar sell em for ~$400 even with the astronomical postage you should get it here for less than $100
Likewise the camera you get it here for about $80
I bought 3 wired cameras and 1 wireless camera with 1 card (They dont comcine postage so your looking at $22.00 US per item)
The quality and range of the wireless was very low (I got the 1.2 ghz model but I got it 0.99 cents US) but the wired are superb they are daytime
colour and go to that greenish cast when they switch to night vision.
They were delivered in about 1 week.
Card has many options including setting it to record only when it detects movement leaving the potential to fit days of video even on a small
drive.
The software can be tricky to set up but once you do you will love it If you have a static IP you can even view it over the internet.
