Oil temp senders

I have an SW oil temp gauge in the car. It use to be hooked up to a sender in the rear oil pressure relief hole.
I now have another sender that looks different and is located in the sump through the case.

Can i just hook this up to my gauge???

Reckon they are a compatible sender/signal???

Will it burst into flames and set the mag case alight if i just try???

Should i just put the old sender back in???

I just prefer the location of this other sender.
I would actually like to compare the 2 temps at different locations

BARRY

Just attach the bloody wire will yar and stop stuffing around.

when the engine is hot take a temp reding of one sender bulb then change the wire over to the other type one and see if theres any difference.

Use the difference for a calibration point if necessary.

Temperatures measured from different locations will always give a different reading depending upon the flow of oil past the sender unit. It is the way they are mounted that is important and how sensitive you want them to be to temperature fluctuations that determine where and how they are mounted.

hey jakriz

out of interest jak riz what does a cool set of 94,s run at and how long will they stay that cool at various engine loads. i thought you had a 1880? ddo you run an external cooler and/or propped boot lid. i am going the 94's route but overheating is a particular phobia of mine.
