hydrolic clutch help !! (50's era toyota bus)
I know this isn't VW related but there are some good mechanically minded people on here.
I'm working on a 50's era toyota bus with an old holden 6 cylinder engine (from Kingswood) in it.
The clutch doesn't fully engage when you press down on it. Where do I adjust this? I can see that the clutch rod has an adjustment thing on it
(and I have adjusted this as far as I can), but that doesn't seem to be the answer.
I notice that the rod goes into a hydrolic cylinder. Might the problem be air bubbles in the pipeline fluid? And if so, where do I bleed the line
at?
Is anybody familiar with these clutch systems?
Thanks anyone!

There should be a bleed nipple on the clutch cylinder on the side of the bell housing or gear box.

I am guessing you mean the "clutch" is not fully disengaging!
There could be three adjustments:
1 Adjustment of the position of the height of the pedal.
2 Adjustment of the "pedal" rod for height and more important "freeplay" at the pedal.
Without knowing this measurement leave at lease 20mm at the pedal - this will then leave the master cylinder cup not covering the return hole.
3 Adjustment of the "rod" in the slave cylinder to give "freeplay" at the pedal and/or the operating fork. Without knowing this
measurement leave at lease 5mm at the rod
Then do your bleeding at the slave cylinder.
