Purchasing Advice needed

Hello All

I am considering purchasing a new set of IDF webers for my new bus. Have been scanning the internet for prices and availability. Has anyone done this lately and if so who do you reccomend, what is the frieght cost and did you manage to skirt duties and taxs etc. Any info would be appreciated.

Paul

I have only bought a linkage from AC.net and manifolds from a friend on SBO.
Got the stuff sent to him and he bundled it up and sent it out as a "gift"

So ideally you want some one to buy it for you and send it on if at all possible.

What i will say is be a little careful of the EMPI kits available. I saw on the other day and to say the linkage sucked is an understatement!

First of all the hex bar was aluminium. I questioned by mate about this and he showed me an old one that was bent and rounded out. - Make sure you get a steel hex bar set up

The second thing was the pissy little extension that hooked the throttle cable up to. The bloke that owned this beetle was having allsorts of trouble betting full throttle. - I bought the AC.net Redline model. Down side is the filter base / hex bar holder is pressed steel and does not look as good as the CB cast aluminium one

Who to but from -
CB Performance $590 US
http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=493

but the vents are 28mm which i reckon is to small. Should be at least 32mm

AC.net - $675 to $775 US
http://www.aircooled.net/new-bin/viewproductdetail.php?keyword2=FSK0020&c...

The AC.net will be better set up.

You might want to ring Carb Services in Burwood Sydney and see what a set of vents is worth 02 9747 4066
