Bucket seats for kombi?
Hey people, i am sick of the uncomfortable old low back seats im my kombi and would like head rests for saftey. How would i goabout fitting buckets to
my car, something like wrx or simalar. Anyone done this before? Pics? Also i am goin to cut off the metal section behind the seats so i can recline
the new ones all the way down. Thanks for your help,

try and u2u paulr......he has some nice ones from a Honda PRelude (I think) in his kombi........and i think it is reasonably straitforward for at
least one of the seats (the other needs a few bolts)

At the Perth DOVW I met a guy you had put in some seats from a Jap car - i think it was a Mazda .... but they apparently fitted straight in ... though
the passenger seat needed an extra fitment - but apparently it was really easy to get it in - and let me tell you they made the kombi look that much
...ummm quicker

My Kombi mechanic has 81 falcon seats in his. He told me if I new how to drill 8 holes and do up 8 bolts I would not have a problem! I am looking for
some to as I don't like not having head rests - in case of whip lash.

hey da wiz do you know what type of mazda?
are there any legal problems with just drilling holes and bolting them in in. ie. need an engineers certificate.
crazy figgi - where are you going to put your compliance plate?
Save water, drive an air cooled Volkswagen.

This has been covered a few times. Have you done a search?
As for compliance, my kombi has seats in it from a who knows what (I suspect a Commodore). They have been welded to the body and the slidey bits
welded to the fixed bits so they no longer move forward/backward. It passed the Vic. RWC with this welding.
