the rear of a bus, I would put a 4 link in there, just for the ride quality...alot of money, but you wont have any probs later..

Air setup
Hello,
Here I am.
You can buy "proper" air bag setups for every type of VW except the T3.
I bought the seperate parts with the help of Iain of Maxhydraulics.
It was a lot of work. Even made dropped spindles to suit.
Forget the air cylinder - air shocks setups. Ask people who rode with them.
Air bags are a total different world, either driveablilty and money-wise.
I am currently talking with a major company to have the setups promoted.

Now im only a girl and im sure i dont know as mush as much as anybody on here but ive had alot of probs getting bags for my bug. Ok so its a newbug,
and they could put it on its bump stops but it was also going to cost me $5000. Next problem thats happening now in QLD is that those smartarse
minitruck(hilux) boys are welding something to the body(all legal) and so when they drop the height they are making sparks on the road while driving.
Also when they get pulled over by the feds, the fed says thats too low. Minitruck dickhead says no its not, pumps the bags back up and drives away.
So im not sure what the Vic Roads thinks of all this but if they've outlawed them in Qld, they bound to be gone in NSW.

airbags are not illegal anywere in australia as long as they are fully enginered, even QLD(some fool started a rumour and everyone in QLD panicked).
if you want to disagree with me then call any shop who installs them or an enginere, they should be able to tell you the laws involved.
typefre(if your serious) go talk to the guys at fabricate this, they were more than helpfull with my type3 questions and were going to bag the front
end on my notch(i was going to do the back, its easy with an irs) but just got sick of owning a vw and have sold my notch.

forgot to say that in some states(QLD included) you must have an auto leveling device that does not alow a car to drive below a certain height.

nectar is right, there is a bit of fabrication to do, and custom work doesnt come cheap. i have some pics of patricks squareback(the blue one on
thesamba linked earlier) front setup but he isnt running front shocks and i dont want to start the whole no shocks debate again(closed minded people
this means you!!) so i wont post the pics(so dont ask!) if your really interested typefre let me know and i will email them to you.
he isnt running dropped spindles so it really doesnt go super low(plus its on 17" rims) but the ride quality would be a hell of alot better than
stock.
