What is difference between early & late T3's
Can Somebody tell me is there any body shape difference between an early type 3 and a late type 3

Bits
1970 is the new shape and apparently the bonnet, back guards and blinkers are different. Some things fit from early to late, but others
don't.

A lot.
Apart from lights and indicators, both front and rear, there is also the obvious 4 stud change.. that is not body however.
One of the main body differences is the bonnet and badge location on the front of the bonnet.. The boot is different from memory too.

Every panel is different in some respect. The bars are differnet, stud patterns are different. Dashboards are different and there are a lot of
mechanical differences too. As regards looks, the earlier type 3 tend to look a bit sleeker due to the laid back bonnet and smaller
indicators/taillights.

Actually to be specific a T3 is a 80's kombi/ Caravelle/ Transporter.
T1, T2, T3, T4 are model designations used for the different generations of van/ bus/ ute
Sorry to be pedantic, but I am only trying to clarify as I did not know this myself once.

Type 3?
The Actual Type 3 We Are All Used To Comes In Notchback, Fastback And Squreback, In The Manual They Are Known As Early = VW1500 And Later VW1600, Some
Have Type 3 Badges On The Fenders Why I Dont Know, Maybe Someone May Be Able To Shead Some Light On This, As I Would Also Like To Know, I Agree With

My understanding of the Type 3 badges were that they came out for the 72 & 73 models and only in Australia

T1 & T2
The splits and bays were never sold as either the T1 or the T2. Some people have taken it upon themselves to retrospectively name them but that
doesn't make it so. To confuse matters further, ETKA lists the type 3 as T3 and the type 25 transporter as a T2.:P

I must admit I never actually refer to our 1975 Microbus as a T2 when ordering parts, but on invoices I see T2 listed for the part descriptions.
I got some info from

So ours would be a 224 model
