Grimace Update

Well in the past couple of days Ive been visiting repaires about my door problems, Doors kept poping open with sharp turns and bumps.

A decent panel beater was very good about the problem, and said the drivers side needs new pins, but the Passenger side needs a new pillar. I beleive he said about $200 to fix the pillar,

Just thought Id update :)

Heres a pic for your reading trouble.

Yes Indeed, I did, Im very Impressed with him.

I must say Thanks to Both Graham and Terry for helping me out with Grimace. this forum really is a live VW manual :)

Im going to try and keep the doors closed temp for now, till I can buy a spray gun/compressor, and respray the car while its "down", The panel beater also was very helpful with rust repair ideas,

Now, know anyone willing to strip a beetle down for a carton :P

willing to do anything for a carton but not that it takes longer than you think to strip a beetle how far you going.

was thinking the windows, Gauges, steering wheel, I would imagine the panel beater will take the doors off, fenders, bumpers, thats pretty much it, maybe the carpet away a little, Never really painted a beetle properly before :)

Oh, if your interested graham, I have my old steering wheel, could use a little tlc but it's yours if you want it.
