Bendigo swap meet

Anyone have better luck than me today at the Bendigo swap meet. The only VW stuff i could find were hub caps. However, the people watching was supurb, some interesting looking bubba types that u wouldnt want as your cell mate. Also a fine day for a blat in the country.:)

hehehe

You had the same experience as I had last year!:)

Last year I came away with a VW pin which I have on my day pack. Oh, and an indicator arm for Bel the beetle which I picked up outside the gate from a guy I bought from at last years DO.

I had all these huge burly guys with tatts sniggering at me when I asked if they had any VW stuff or knew anyone who did. It was kinda funny though.

Definitely a people watching place, amazing. For me it was very Mad Maxish. I loved it:D

Had a great time, BUGBOY and myself (along with the cook!) stayed Sat night and relaxed after a big day. Sunday morning we went back and picked up a few more things, then left about 11.am. 1Klm form the gate there they where....The COPS pulling everyone over for vehicle/licence/breatho checks, well this guy was a right prick and went right throught the Notch giving me a Canary plus a $165 fine for me trouble:mad::mad::mad::mad:

'kin Bastard!

So no Notch for this weekends 'Day of'. This bloke was having a ball as the Shannons Show and Shine cars were all going to get done.....I'll never take a hotty car up there again. Drive a Magna and don't have fun is what they want.

P.S. I have a couple of good friends who are Police Officers, and this guy gives them all a bad name. Whats more of a bastard is that this was the same copper who booked me for not wearing a seat belt in a Truck when I worked for Aussie Post all those years ago, never forget a name!

What did they defect you on?

Why aren't you taking your notch to DOVW?, I thought you have a grace period where you can still drive with a canary?

Re:Canary

Sorry to hear about what happened Anthony....but..."Congratulations"!!!! wear it with pride !!! I've had five canaries in total so far, keep Australia beautiful, drive a 'slammed' V-Dub! Run the car near-empty, find someone who owns a set of coil-over shocks and 4 wheels with crossply tyres......that's all you need unless you have to get a full RWC.
p.s. When you get to there, give the car a manual lift for the shocks to raise the car and don't get in again until after the visual check.
Cheers,
a
