Look for someone who's heading that way. The fuel bill would be less an an airfare. Tell them where to leave it.

Not sure how you go about it but a mate of mine was over here backpacking and got around by driving free rentals that needed delivering.

He paid for fuel and was just told the address to take it too.

Car Express have been the cheapest so far, Hools right, weighing in at $693..ouch

As for lending it to someone to drive to QLD...wow, am i the only one out there that is paranoid about anyone aother than himself driving his cars...its a 56 bus, i imagion its quite fragile, and its stil running the orig engine, also its about 1800km to the goldcoast......... but on the flip side of that, are you going to be driving from hobart to Qld VOLKS FOLKS? very interesting.... can you u2u me your phone number bro?

i didnt think they would be that expensive so i rang to double check and smb were about 680 plus GST for door to door and $100 less for depot to depot

tnt were 682 depot to depot and 703 door to door (plus gst)

i don't know if going by rail would be any cheaper?

did you tell them its a Kombi. casue its about 250 more than a standard car becuase its classed as van...i got quoted 1006 from tnt....
man if your right then they just didnt like my tone....i guess i was putting on a russian accent, with an outragious lisssp..

oh and i kept refering to the woman on the phone as mum, she didnt like that.
and she really hated when i replied to everything she said with "yeah, but thats just your opinion"..

The train dont go with cars anymore either..... DAMBNATION.
