Swaybars for Supers
Hello all
Was looking for some feed back from the likes of SteveC, Jak and Bix and anyone else with a Super that likes a bit of fun/ racing.
What size sway bars are you using front and rear and what would you recommend for street/ fun motorsport.
I see white line do a street variation that has the front only 1mm larger plus a rear one (24mm) and a race variation that has a 22mm front and a 27mm
rear.
On the flip side I've got a second 1302 swaybar lying around that I had thought of bolting up. Any suggestions on how this is done? I guess I
would need a rear one if I added this to the front?
For the rear I had thought about approching the local Porsche dismantler for a 924/ 944 one- as I've heard these work? Are they an appropriate
size.

I think you will find thats theres only one size available nowdays anyway. So you have not got much choice.

everybody will have a diferent opinion, and it depends ur driving style also
One thing to remember is that:
1-sway bars (front and rear)
2-front springs
3-rear torsion bars
4-front shocks
5-rear shocks
6- alignment setings
7-rim size
8-tyre size and type
all of these thing INTERACT to give ur suspension setup. And also each different type of driving wants a different setup. So every body will have a
different setup depenant on
1-driving style
2-type of driving
3-type of racing ur interested in
4-budget |

That would certainly narrow down the options...
However I am still interested to know what people have and how it drives.
The Whiteline ones generally go bigger at the back which would lead to understeer- but the rear has adjustable stiffness so I guess it can be dialed
out. Where as most of the US suppliers go approx 22mm front and 19mm rear.
Any more suggestions welcomed

Hi Jeremy,
I have a huge one on the front, can't quite remember what size it is, but my rear one is only 19mm & it's non adjustable, i also only
run standard torsion bars with no dramas.
Bigger isn't always better.
Bigger bars on the rear will lead to oversteer not understeer as well.

Jak didn't you used to run T3 torsion bars on the back? I guess the outcome wasn't so good?

No worries Dave, see u on the 6th.
Jez, I had type 3 torsion bars on my other Superbug& when I bought my purple car back 4 years ago I just coldn't be bothered changing them
over, I don't think that it has made any difference.
