I don't really know rhys but I have a cracked seal in my master cyliner and the (mechanical) advice I have been given is that reconditioning will cost as much as replacement, but mine is a dual circuit.
Dual curcuits are about the 150-170 mark, currently looking for a cheaper replacement where as the single circuit cylinder are apparently around the 40 dollar mark.

stainless steel?

Before you commit to replacing, check out overhauling the existing one using a stainless sleeve.
A re-sleeved one will last forever because the rubbers can be replaced cheaply but the killer is rust pits in the bore- something that can't happen with SS.

Rhys, i have a resleaved (dual) body which is longer than my type1 or 3 so might be from a bus, give me some measurements between the ports and length.
