Suspension Woes

Well I finally got around to giving my bug a test drive before I pull the engine (finally) and I’m having a few problems, first to begin with that when I got the car it had an insane amount of positive camber on the rear wheels stretching the handbrake cable, so I decided to have a bit of a fiddle and lower it down and put some positive camber on the wheels which was ok except I didn’t realise the inner splines also effected the position of wheel so I ended up with a lop sided car. To make matters worse I installed a lowered disc break front end into my car as well. The problem is that one wheel sticks out side of the guard more then the other (at the front) and they both stick out to far under the stock guard. So are 6in rims to big for standard guards or can I just adjust the camber on the front wheels to make them fit and how would I ensure that I didn’t end up with a lop sided front end as well? The point of all this post is that while I was happily driving away I smelt burring rubber I stop got out and to my dismay the passenger side guard had been rubbing the tyre causing the paint to bubble :cry (I raised the suspension up heaps before I went for a drive to ensure this wouldent happan?!). Should I just take the whole thing to a mechanic and get them to sort every thing out? (Rear alignment and front end alignment.) and any gusstimate on how much it would cost?

To sum up for those who don’t like reading long posts :D

Rear Wheels have different camber and different heights
One the front one wheel sticks out more (and is lower) then the other and both don’t fit under the guard properly at the front
Should I attempt to fix it or not bother and get a mechanic to do it (I’m a student so I don’t have a lot of $ btw :P )

Phew big post,
Thanks
Justin
