Uneven idle
I just can't seem to fix this problem. The engine is a std. Type 1 1600 single port, nothing fancy.
It just will not idle properly. She starts OK, so when the choke is operating, will idle at around 1500 RPM. This is fine, but as the engine warms up,
she will stall. Go for a run and stop the car in neutral and it will either rev from 2000 RPM to almost stalling, up and down until it eventually
stops. The high and low reving of the engine, is with no touching on the accelerator from me. It just does it itself.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

You probably have an air leak in your carby manifold. Either a blown gasket or a little crack. Try wiggling the carby (or carbies) around till it
stops. This happened to me last week and got it fixed today. Hope this helps, and hope I'm right... but exact same symptoms as mine.
