VW tow truck

This is a strange post but what the hell..anyway Sunday as many fine buggies were parking for the night I got a call from my dad saying that his 98 Falcon had crapped itself. So of I went in my trusty 71..sure enough it had craped out its box (had thrown the converter!!) anyay the funny bit is I just chained it to my recover line and towed its 1600kg lard ass along Rode road!! up some pretty big hills to I might add. Funniest thing I think I've ever seen..55hp VW chugging away in 2nd gear :) towing a car 27 year it junior u pbig hills...would have made a good add

Maybe Holden could have used it last weekend at the Bathurst 24 hr race

Holden wouldn't need it, Dave.

Holden won!!

Beat the fancy Farraris (sp?) and all.

Now now, you know and I know that that wasnt a real holden - 7liter engine straight from GM's LeMans campaign, double wishbone front sus etc etc. Group C race car more like.

Having said that, its awesome, and I hope Holden really does produce it. If they do , then it really would be eligible to run in a production class.

I'd say if it really is 7 litre and race bread at that it would be well over the 300kw mark as a reliable 300kw with warranty can now be purchased off the showroom floor from a 5 litre. Not into it as much as I would like to be because I'd rather be camping than sitting in front of the box.

That would have been a cool moment 555 with your Dad's ride clapping ou tlike that. I'm not looking forward to my Father-in-law having to come get me with his feroza if/when the Dog shits itself. He's waiting for the "i told you so" moment to come around an I don't want to give him the satisfaction.

This weekend of sometime next week a mate and I will give it a good going over hopefully. There are a few thing in need of replacement here and there. I'd like to take it to my mechanic but haven't got enough reliable work yet. I don't like asking friends for their time but I'll be taking plenty of beer and steaks so it should be fun I hope.

http://www.HSV.com.au

It has a feature on the production version of the "427" the name coming from the 427ci (7lt) chev motor

Looking at well over 420KW, but HSV are'nt releasing any figures, they did'nt even say what the race car was putting out.
The 300KW is the worked over 350ci (5.7lt) Chev.

btw, all holden V8's are out of the box chev built ones, the tickford V8 production line is home of the only Aus' built V8.
555, I know what you mean. I've rescued some car's in my VW's before. Even towed (rescued) a bay window kombi filled with car parts whilst moving house :D
