Any members in or near the Adelaide area?
Hi folks I'm going to work in Adelaide at about June time, probably for about a year and so am looking for some info on the place.
Just the kinda normal everyday stuff, where to eat, hang out stuff like that.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance.
Mick.

If you are looking for "good" places to eat, drink and hang out I don't think you will find them in "the 'beth". You
will have to head towards the city and inner metro, Nth Adelaide, Norwood, Parkside/Unley.
Cheers

Hi guys (and gals) I decided to bump this post back up as Ive finally got a date set for when I'll be coming out. (18th May).
It looks like they are sorting me out an apartment nearer to the coast (about 20 mins from the plant - can't remember the name of the place - I'll
try and find out).
If there's any shows going on in or around the area it'd be good to hook up with some fellow VDubbers and maybe make some new friends.
I might also checkout buying a VW to cruise about in whilst I'm there, dont think I can be dealing with the hire car they'll sort me out with - I
need to cruise in style :thumb. so if anyone has any rough guides on prices that'd be great.
Regards. Mick.

I beleive Glenelg is where I will be - if you see a pale skinned english guy mattie - be sure to ask him to buy you a beer - it'll probably be me -
lol.

I'm not too sure of the geography of the place but I understand that Glenelg was chosen as a base due to the locality of restraunts and ameneties,
I've been told its about a 20/30 min drive from plant but how true that is I dont know.
One thing that has been mentioned to me at work this week is that they want me to relocate to Adelaide permanently, but this leaves me with a small
problem.
The car I'm building at the moment (the type 34 ghia in my avitar) is still unfinished, and if I was to relocate it would mean shipping it out as a
rolling shell and several crates of parts.
Does anyone have experience of importing a car in this condition? What kind of stuff would I have to consider as far as the legalities of registering
the car, getting it tested etc...
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanx. Mick.

Nope, it's not.
Every time I drive it, I decide not to let it go.
