Machine work

What kind of work it involved getting a 1776 or larger pistons to fit a case/heads and how much does it cost?

to fit bigger p&c you need to get the case and the heads machined to a larger diameter (it is best to get the case "decked" so you have a perfectle flat surface to mount the p&c on)

as for $ i think it is in the region of $300... (including the "decking";) could be more, it is a while since i got a quote.

while you are at it you may as well get the heads cut to the depth you want for your desired compression.... it'll save having to get the heads machined again.

Of course this means completely stripping the engines and cleaning it as well So while your tehre you replace all the gasket, push rod tubes, bearings, valves and valve guides, heads ?? etc etc etc so it a bit more than the 300 for the machining
