i'm a student a QUT, just started a health science degree...am a mature age student now (i don't think 26 is so old, but i just had a
introductry chemistry class this morning and the 18yr olds really shit me. sorry, not to be age-ist or anything...got lots of friends who are younger
and i used to be younger once too..but put them all together in a confined space...argh...and the fashion...oh my god...i grew up in the
80s....can't handle it....)
anyway.
back to study this year after a long break...started a BA in 96...have worked mainly in disability care and aged care...travelled a bit and now
decided i can't be a shit-kicker anymore so i better get a degree...
scarily enough i am actually excited about going back to study
but i am looking for some part time work, in brisbane....anyone know of anything going??? |

In the same boat as little_dub73 started a bachelor of medical science a while back at the University of New South Wales I’m a mature age student at
the ripe old age of 31. I major in anatomy so I get to cut up dead humans a lot of the time and in the little spare time I have, I do a little
dissection /preparation for the school of medicine as well, 2 kids 10 and 9 they think it’s cool, I gotta say I think the fashion isn’t all that
bad.
Cheers

My wife Christine and I own a small Antique/Coffee shop in the Steel City-Whyalla.She is a Registered Nurse and does a couple of nightshifts a week
and I do the furniture restoration and make new stuff for the shop or to special order.I also make leadlight panels and do repairs for customers as
well as for our furniture.I am a qualified mechanic having worked at Ford and VW workshops and had some years as a fitter at a coal mine working on
200ton haulers and electric rope Shovels.Repairing furniture is much cleaner and less stressful. Our shop---

I just finished a Bachelor of Arts majoring in theatre.
I work Monday to Friday as a receptionist for a music company in Sydney & occasionally work on the door of one of our major venues.
I film & edit gigs etc. for the sake of it (more voluntary but I finally got offered paid work today- yay!)
I also manage a band inbetween all the rest of the stuff.
Think that's it. For now. Oh, 'cept a bit of temp work occasionally.

Web Developer/Database Engineer (everything from your good ol' static HTML website, to complete database integrated "weblications".) Work in a
number of languages, prefer PHP. Also highly involved with setting up community wireless networks in my 'spare time' and current president of the
Australian Wireless Association Inc. Do the occasional bit of post production on DVD's when Lokita uses the puppy dog face on me too. : P
PS. to those respite carers, if the term "HADS" or "CRS" makes you cringe, let me know, one of the big projects we're currently finalising at
work is a replacement for both of these applications. Unlike the above two software programs this works, is customisable, flexbile, basically
everything which HADS and CRS isn't, this is. U2U me if you want more info.

I know a few potential customers, they're everywhere at VW shows, driving those kombi thingys
But I don't use myself. So I think that's the best way for the distributor to be. You don't want to wake up one morning with a hangover, wearing
someone elses pants, and wondering where the latest shipment of goods has gone to...

Well What a range of jobs people have in here.. I am shure all those Machinests, Tool Makers and metal stress technitions must see there Bugs or
buggys as a bit of a case study...
And well for me I am a Television News Cameraman at one of the big 3 Commertial stations here in Sydney (The Lucky one)...
I get the run round the city all day filming things they want for the news that night, Harrass shitbags outside courts, and fall asleep interviewing
Poli's...
It is a heap of fun and I never know what I am doing one day to the next..
I also specialise in Underwater Camerawork, I use these skills quite reguarly on a state wide holliday show hosted buy Mike Whitney... This gets me
traveling round NSW a bit which I love..
Work has also sent me to The olympics, the Fiji Coup, Pakistan, Afganistan for the war, Israil, Palistine, and through Dubai... the whole of UAE would
be a Beach buggy's dream..
Ha..
All in all I have fun and that is what counts.. |

Stopped over Dubai (didn't get out of the airport but) on the way to Ghana the other week. Looks like an amazing place to check out. Heading back to
Ghana in a few months (need some cameramen over there for what we're doing as well!!) really keen to make it a real stop over in Dubai. What'd you
get sent over for?
