Cleaning Chrome a Cheaper Method

Well hello, Saw this tip on the samba forums, cleaning chrome with coke and aluminium Foil, bs I thought , well it works, very well. At $1.50 for a bottle its a cheap cleaner :D

Before and After

simply pour a small amount of coke, use the foil to clean the chrome, leave it to dry a little and clean with a cloth,

Just in case there are younger people out there, in the seventys( oh! what years) we used to put pennys in a glass of coke come back in the morning and it was eaten away, nothing left. Well must go change my plastic bag, I think my stomachs full.......

I was also wondering whether you scrunch up the foil or use it flat?

hihi, some people think soda water does the same thing, might give it a go as it wouldn't leave it sticky. yeah just use the foil to scrub.

Wax is still tops for chrome protection....

Back in the 60s, I can remember people using coke in the washing machine to wash greasy overalls...
I wonder if they ever had ants in the washing machine??
With Chrome, I still prefer the old way, a good bottle of turtle wax or any wax will do... and cutting compound No1 is good if there are any rusty marks on it.. and the wax protects the chrome, even Brazillian chrome [so long as You apply it each day before breakfast...] and no ants either...
