engine Identification

We've got this bug in the back yard and my Dad seems to think the engine in it is a 1500. i don't agree, I beleive it is a 1300 but am not sure. the engine no. is F (i think, hard to read) 1 035 039

If it is a 1300 how much difference in power/performance is there between it and a 1500?

Best bet is to measure inside diameter of one of the pots with a head off this should give you an idea of your capacity I have my engine apart now, when I got my car the owner told me it was a custom 1700 which he brought off an engine builder in melb turns out it ain’t nothing but a stock 1600 then again I think I still got my $50 worth.
Another idea is to check if its twin port or single if its twin is probably a 1600.

H = 1500, I think an F is a 1200 from memory. (Found an F motor single port beside the highway on the canberra side of goulburn a couple years ago! :D jammed it under the bonnet of the superbug and took it home) it was complete minus the carby and distributor too!
