It's a hearse :D Dammit I want a hearse!!!

I have a W114 1972. I'm the third owner. It was tourist delivery. Bought in Germany, RHD by a Priest and his wife. Still has the AUSTRALIEN sticker on the drivers sunvisor and the St Christophorus (sp?x2) plaque on the dash. Right under the 160MPH speedo.

I looked at some bent 8 S classes since they were my first preference. But they were all in need of full resto and big $$$

So I got this 6cyl 230 instead. Dropped it off at Volkspower where they did all the suspension bushings, rear shocks, some balljoints, engine mounts, waterpump seal, auto service, etc, etc, etc...
Recomend them to everyone and anyone with a German car :thumb:D:thumb

The quote for the work I used to bargain the price down, so I ended up with a kickarse big comfy trans continental cruiser for less money than a bug in the same condition.

I still find it Ironic that this car which was built 30+years ago has fully independent suspension all around. A smooth shifting auto, is deathly silent. Has 4 wheel disks, power steering and air con. And mine is the base model:jesus
There is no way I'd buy something domestic again after owning this car. No way!

Still thinking of getting the S class tho. I want the same model and colour as what they have at the end of the Exorcist. Drop it on some AMG rims with big brakes, Supra 6 speed, LSD and an E55 motor.
Well, when I win tattslotto anyway:(

The only thing the W114 has over it's big brother of the same era is an independent rear end. The S class used a 4 link live axle and fully hydraulic suspension all around.

nah, not my style. Need to get some lowered springs. Stiffen it up and put some lo-pros on it.

Make it stick and slide first and foremost :D

umm... do a search dude. If you're after the S classes they're called M100's and the smaller bodies are called W114's.

Man, your cousin has a kickarse ride :D:thumb Any chance of leaking out some of his future plans?

I saw one the same model as that, in matte black, slammed on 18" AMG rims. Same as what the '98 E-Series has, in the last lot of pics I posted.

i think i've always had a soft spot for vintage mercs, those dumped standard ones with whitewalls or spoked wheels are PIMP!

There seem to be a lot of restored vintage mercs around recently, seems like a lot have been coming out of the woodwork recently
