Golf Mk2 Engines
What power and torque outputs came from the 1.8L Mk2 engines. Are there fuel injected models or just carby ones? Thanks

the 77kw motors that came to australia in the mk 2 GTI Golfs were actually 5 kw less than the same motor in the UK. this was due to the exhaust
manifold fitted to the aussie cars. so this works out at around the 110hp figure for a motor, in my opinion, is a very nice engine. All the aussie
ones were injected.
I have just fitted one of these motors to my beetle with aftermarket efi computer and extractors and for a stock motor it flys!!
Unfortunately we never saw the 16v version here but due to importers they are available to buy.
