` Woohoo - Rain! Rain = Mud! '
Rain you bastard!
As I type it is pouring outside.
Can't go and play with no lights, brakes and airfilter but will hope to be posting pics of 'mudfun' this weekend!
Have a safe weekend and I'll see you at the other end.

A couple of puddles in amongst the dust.
Thanks to Ripplybulldog for taking the pics, and risking his life outside the dog on this excursion. Somehow I don't think his black 56 will be
joining me next time it rains.
He's also not bad at assistant brake bleeder.
Cheers Azza

Hey Bronze having withdrawals from the Geography class
Good maps though
Here some for you I found when researching for Jesse Martin's latest journey. They were wanting stuff for the schools/educational side of it
(cut and pasted from an email not sure how it will look) I was fascinated by what I found. Have lots of others.
World Glacier Distribution (Himalayas - Nepal & the Andes South America)
http://nsidc.org/data/glacier_inventory/index.html
Here it is!!!!! Simplified, great models & satellite images – (even has floating buoys) – it’s a huge science & so important
‘Elements of the Climate System’ – World Ocean Circulation Experiment brochure, from World Meteorological Organization (very slow to load, 16
page document, but worth it)
http://www.wmo.ch/web/wcrp/brochures/WOCEbrochure.PDF
International Program for Antarctic Buoys, part of the climate research program
http://www.antcrc.utas.edu.au/antcrc/buoys/photos.html
I’m beginning to wonder if these buoys are posing a shipping hazard, drifting around the way they do. They look pretty big!!
Reasons to measure water levels

Sea level rise in Australia & the Pacific – National Tidal Facility

Thanks Guys!
Yeah the muds great fun alright. Even had Azza keen to buy another Baja when I'd finished ploughing through the couple of bogs we could find.
That Noaa site - http://www.noaa.org is as awesome site and just one of its sections the
primary focus during my studies into the La nina / El nino. It was judged the webs most expensive site a couple of years ago as draws info from
100's of sats, bouys, meteorlogical stations, web cams, scientists and geological / astronomical societies. It is of course very American but
collects data for the entire globe.
Here the other two photos we took on the day. We were heading into Newcastle so only stayed 1/2 an hour because next weekend the water holes will
probably be dried up for sure.

There you go, Hopefully there will still be some mud around next weekend. If anything it will probably be crusted up mud which is just a pain as it
becomes dangerious when it falls out from under the car as it drys. Plus its not good for seals.

They wern't really planned as such. My wife and I wen't down to this bush a few months ago when it last rained with her camera to get some
black and white shots with her SLR but unfortunately they didn't work out.
After the rain last week we, Azza and I were going into town and I decided once we finished putting in the master cylinder and bleeding the brakes,
hopefully we'd have a quick moment to race back to those holes and get a couple of snaps.
Azza took the shots trying hard not to get splashed with mud onto his good clothes. It was heaps of fun and those four shots were taken in say 15 mins
as their were heaps of ferals on their motorbikes racing around the bush tracks. Didn't want to get ploughed into by them so we left.
We made a couple of runs through the mud just to stur it up a bit as the water was pretty clean when we arrived. Digital cameras are great. Don't
like a shot, delete it and have another go. Azza did a great job as these all worked out well and he only got one drop of mud on him I think.
This shot was later on in at the Newcastle Foreshore. The yellow Oval is VWFool's - he was recently accosted by my neighbour for dropping of a
leaflet and the New Beetle Green 57', is James' who was at home putting together a splitty.

Woooooo Whooooooo!
Keep bringing it down Hewy!
This post started a couple of weeks ago when we had a afternoon and evening of heavy rain. Now we are into our second day and this wind is just
picking up meaning that it probably wont last much longer but we have had a hell of a lot of rain. Not enough to break the drought but plenty to wash
off the dust, get the fires out and start the grass growing again. The radio announced that their are only 46 fires still burning across NSW and that
number will be greatly reduced by this evening. 96% of the state has recieved substantial rain and many centre have recorded significant low temp
records like Sydney and Scone but in the low teens yesterday, this time of year!
