not sure if it is a baragin, you may come back and said "you idiot!", but here it is...
in the autobarn catalogue, they have the autotechnica woodgrain steering wheel for sale $69, went to check it out this arvo, apparently they used to
sell it for 109 (that's what the sticker says anyway)
looks pretty good, i think someone in the forum used to have one of them, i couldn't resist and bought it! had to order the boss kit tho... anohter

Ronster
what boss did you order for.
There are 2 for L bugs
one for early thick shaft and one for late thin (or was that the other way??)
Whatever - i like Autotechnia stuff
Good score

Alls i know is i bought a SAAS one off my mate who had an early 3 bolt suspension (1973) L bug.
I have a late 1974 L bug (2 bolt suspension)
The boss on his was too big for the shaft on mine. (now i remember which way it was)
Luckily another mate just happened to have an old SAAS boss laying round and it just happened to be the right one!
IF the Auto technica will fit the hub i have - we can talk.
Do you know if you have 2 bolt or 3 bolt struts.
I "believe"the steering changes happened at the same time

When I put a new wheel on mine I had to order a boss for a golf to fit my L bug as they sent me the wrong one the first time.Mine is a two bolt and
there wasn't a boss with a spline listed around that size in the type 1.Just my 2c worth if anybody is interested.
Gary.
