'60 and '69 Beetle
Having been away from the VW family for many years we have just rejoined. Last weekend we purchased 2 beetles ('60 and '69), which will become the
daughters cars eventually.
The '69 is a go-er and we are using it as the family second car. However the '60 doesn't go, is complete but has a siezed engine. We will get to
work on it over the next couple of years.
I will have many questions on these cars over the next few months and would love to hear from other people who have the same model beetles (especially
the '60, as it seems to have a few add-ons not native to that model).

'60 Beetle
The '60 Beetle has amber indicators on the front wheelarches and standard combination lights on the rear, which I have been told are not native to
the '60. On the B pillar, there are two brackets that look like either the base for a lens or for a signal unit.
They are bolted onto the pillar, not recessed in, so I am unsure whether they were add-on semaphores, indicator lights, or what. Maybe the original
semaphores are underneath? Either way if it came with semaphores I would love to restore it back to this. Any tips from the crowd on whether the
'60 should have them?

Also have a '60 I bought it from the original owner who told me that she removed the semaphores...however...cannot seem to find any trace of them in
the pillars, either they did a very good job removing them or she was wrong... it too now has the combination lights on the rear and indicators wheel
arches. (btw probably much safer for everyday driving...not many people notice semaphores)
Aparently halfway through production of the '60 model they stopped semaphores...so some have them and some don't...
I'm interested in what add ons ur '60 has?
