ello ello from UK Dubber on hols in Aus
Ello everybody!
I'm a UK (North London) dub owner (have a gander at http://www.ClubGTI.com ) , just
wasting time in an internet cafe, thought i'd see if there was a Aus VW scene, i've been struggling to see them between all the hordes of modified
Rice.
My 'beast' if you can call it that, is a 1983 1.8 Mk1 Golf GTI (Mars Red).

there ya go...certainly not mint, but engine is in wicked condition.
whats all this about a VW national show this weekend in Sydney, whereabout is it etc... ??!?!?!?! Would be cool to wander by, Monday I'm off up the
standard backpacker route Blue Mountains>East coast>Red Centre>Adelaide>Great Ocean Rd etc.

yeah its a top show. but nothing like some in england, like the recent volksworld show.
and it is mostly aircooled, but you should get along. have some fun.

Shame I missed the meet, would have been a good craic. Need to cultivate some links in Germany to get some good stuff...having said that a mate of
mine back home now has about 5 mk1s and counting so can always exchange bits for beer money!
to be honest I have never been to any aircooled shows in the UK, only water cooled big meets. Some Lads I know have just set up a new 'club' to
arrange meets in and around London, they managed to do the first meet as a big photoshoot and convoy around the cheesy sights right in the centre.
Have now seen a few 5-door swallowtales so i'm happy.
Now movin on up, am in Byron Bay till tomorrow then up to Surfers
have a good un....I know I am |

swallow tail (swallow tale) mk 1
Whats the go with this swallowtail business. I have three mk1s and one has a different arse, like a swallows tail. Why is this? Is it rare? does
