AussieVeedubber Tags?

Hiya,

The number of times I wanted to leave a business card with the site's details on it are staggering. There's this really nice mid 60's notch near where I normally work in South Melbourne, and they totally need to know about us! :-)

What you reckon we get some business cards printed up with AussieVeedubbers logos and URL?

Been there done that!

Hey Andrew,
I've been dropping Aussieveedubbers.com flyers on windscreens and buggy seats since day dot when I found this place. I don't really know if its that effective in the western suburbs (of Newcastle) here because if they own a VW, chances are they can't afford the net or couldn't be bothered with another hobby.

I have had more luck I've found closer to the coast for what ever reason. Whether its because they show their cars more, have more $$$'s or just like the Vdub lifestyle more I'm not sure but these are just guesses.

The buisness card is certianly a good idea for sure and I would endorse it. There would have to be a cost for postage and producing them but it would be nominal divided between many dubbers wanting to hand them out.

The biggest obstacle I've found is that potential dubbers think you are selling something that is free now but will eventually cost them somehow. People I've approached are dubious even when I've told than that it's free.

Secondly - you need a space so who ever distributed it can write their name on the front or leave a note on the back.

Just my 2c's. Will try to reduce my flyer to post here if I can get it under the post limit.

Bronze, I still have forum funds here, so if you get a quote on some, say 2000, then let me know the $$ and the forum(us, the members money / sponsorship cash) can foot the bill. After all, it is in the best interest for the forum.

Bronze, hows the t-shirts and sticker progress going?

Jim,

Bronze is sending me the Publisher file. I can get a quote on the business cards early next week from the mob my boss uses for our business cards. Trust me, my boss is a tightwad ("frugal" is his term :) of massive proportions. He makes most Scots seem generous with the single malt.

Also the board owes me IIRC $67 from purchasing a XMB license/access - I'll find the credit card statement on the weekend. Talk to Brad on this one.

Bronze.

If you email me your flyer.

steve@itsv.net

Then I'll put it on my website and post a link so people can download it from there.

It can be pretty much any size you like.

You can talk to me about that one Fatboy.

There will be a specific post in a week or so. I'm haggling at the moment to get the price down a bit lower and then I'll be taking orders and cutting / posting 10 at a time.

I have sorted the financials, postbox, email and ledger, have to sort a seperate account as I don't have a check account and don't want forum funds in my personal bank account.

Be patient for a week or so. I want to send a proof sticker to Jim to make sure there the same quality as the previous ones that were made and that the price is ok.

Consider your self updated! 0039 05/12/02

I have been waiting to hear if there are stickers around. Excellent and I'll buy two when they are ready!!:kiss

Andrew the card idea sounds good. Fliers can be less formal and have a bit more info on them.

As said before I see some sweet VW's around Brunswick St and other inner Melb areas. Great idea to promote the forum:thumb

thats what i love about this site ... You always come up with some inventive ways to promote and always persist.... If i was like that about V-Dub Dialogue and got off my lazy ass maybe Dialogue would be as big as this site

Get your flyers here!

I agree Jen with the cards and flyers.

I prefer the flyers as they do hold more info, are cheap to develop, less formal and don't get lost or blown away as easily but I think the cards are just as good because they are more portable, more professional and are a sign that people take their hobby (chatting VW) seriously. If cards are made up I will be one of the first to recieve some for sure. I can't keep flyers in my wallet.

Thanks to Fatboy - he has graciously hosted a link to the flyers I have been using the past year and a half or so. They were based on the old forum so they don't match so goog but it's hardly noticeable the difference.

So far in the western greater newcastle area I have handed out about 200 of these. The wife has gotten used to me doing the traffic light shuttle (Put your hazards on when doing this) and hand brake turns to chase choice prospective dubbers.

Unfortunately very few have taken the initiative for some reason. I think its the area where VW's are only transport. I am planning to cruise the inner Newcastle area over the next few weekend as the last two times I have been in there there are choice dackers everywhere.

Anyhow here the link -

Cheers Fatboy.

Hey, excellent fliers:)

I've usually got an oversized bag with me 'cos we women like to carry lots of stuff we never use etc Reckon most of the time I've got room for a strong folder containing some fliers:thumb :D
