performance upgrades- New turbo beetle

hey guys
anyone with a new turbo beetle that has had that upgrade done where they load the program into the computer and you use the cruise control buttons to change the settings???
dad is thinking about it but ofcourse if you do it then u "should" upgrade the exhaust, better air induction etc??
just curious to find out what performance people are getting with this??
harding european and another guy in sydney do this and they said they put the program in it for free and it lasts 6 hours for you to try it out!! might give it a try they said they will be at valla!!!
cheers

Yep im thinkin of doing it......seriously thinking, just to get a stupid amount of power out of my baby, hehehe. I ve got quotes from Muller in Sydney but as you say you have to do exhaust(from the turbo back), cold air intake and of course the most important part, the chip. But im sweet with the cost so far, so the extra bits only improves it all the better. I believe this will go to 160kws. Mmmmmmmmmm

Yes they are coming to Valla but the man to talk to is XXX-1.8T(Costa). He has an Audi 1.8T with this done, he's also good friends with Muller.

Cheers
Maya
(see you at Valla)

Is the 18T in the beetle the same as the one in the golfs? if so you can chip them up from 150bhp to 214bhp with no changes at all.

I doubted it at first but there was a company in the uk that was selling them, same thing 5 hours try then it went back to standard and a friend went and had it done. Massive improvment in power and how quickly the engine rev'ed and he has had no problems in nearly 40.000 miles since he had it done.

Yep ,
the Mullers do the Oettinger chip, I was quoted around $2600 for my 99 A4, so I did some checking and ended up getting a GIAC one fitted, the cost was $1550 drive in drive out. It is superb..
Just ring around like I did..

The new beetle upgrade page is at - no exhaust or intake required http://www.goapr.com.au/products/ecu_upgrade_beetle18t.html[/url]

The direct port info is at APR Direct Port

We will be at Valla (as usual) doing free trials on all 1.8T DBW VW & Audi's!

GIAC might be cheaper and produce the same power but u get no warranty

I'd rather get warrenty and something from Germany than get something else, after all u get what u pay for

The Giac system is a similar product to the APR also around the same price in the USA !

Costa , from my experience the factory back up aint worth a pinch of poo when push comes to shove .

The Oetinger price is way out of sync.

The GIAC requires no other mods std exhaust, std muffler, std air intake, all at a far better cost in Australiia than the rest and with better results.
