Just wondering how rare high top split singlecabs are?

And advantages or disadvantages, your thoughts?

All split screen single cabs in Australia after '62 were high tops, the engine cooling air is drawn from above the windscreen, no vents in the sides, better for keeping the dust out of the engine bay.

Rare?? I have had 3 of them, a '64 which I still have, a '63 I sold and is currently being restored and an ex PMG '67 which was too far gone and used for parts to restore mine.

Like most early work horses they were worked till they died.

I always thought there was issues with the extra venting being was more prone to rust and the difficulty that went with repairing that 'abnormal' rust was greater also..

Maybe I am making it up..

I'm actually looking at buying one at the moment, a 64 with a running 1500. It has absolutly no rust, and the only panel damage is on the roof where someone has jumped on it ( easy enough to pop-out )....the guy is asking $1600.00, well worth it I recon.....
