can someone help pls
hello.. well i have a 1600 twinport with twin kads, 009 dist, extractor..
and now i would like to ask that can some one help me .. what do i need to do if i want to convert it to 1776 engine.
and also which place will be the best place to buy parts.. I am located in melb.. although the shop doesn't have to be in melbourne.. just some place
that will give me a good buy.

You will need to get the case and heads machined to accept the larger diameter P&C. Apart from that, the rest is optional. Certainly the Kads will
work nicely with the 1776
I am doing that right now (although on hold) I bought new 90.5mm P&Cs as well new heads. Try Mick Motors, he has the parts and seem to be cheaper
than the rest.

s stated a few times "just" going to 1776 will not make a HUGE difference
You need to consider cam profile and compression ratio as well.
As this is a case splitting exercise choose wisely as you dont want a rebuild in 6 months.
Consider a counter weighted crank now as well

Balance
A hot motor will spin faster than a stock one. Stock is good up to 5000 revs
After that if it is even slightly out of balance you will flog your bearings and case out and rebuild time will be a very short time away.
If only a warm 1776 or 1916 maybe a balance on the stock crank will be good enough.
