Tv show tonight -
Saw this review in the green guide today...thought some veedubbers might be interested in watching it-
"Stories from the Golf- SBS 9.20pm Saturday
SBS should be applauded for fostering local writers, directors and performers through its drama and documentary programs, even if some of them don't
quite come off.
Its latest initiative is a series of 13 five-minute comedies set inside a hire car- a 1998 silver VW Golf. Each week the same car is hired by a
different driver with a different story and a different punchline; the hard nosed reporter who meets her Deep Throat in the Golf for a
stop-the-presses story; and the dumb thief who hires the Golf as the getaway wheels for a bank heist. You get the picture.
Inspired by the defining moments that happen in cars- the first kiss, the back seat fumblings, the farewells, the reunions- Stories from the Golf was
created, written, produced, directed and large performed by Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope. Their combined comedy/drama CV (Lano and Woodley Etc. Eric,
the money or the gun) wouldn't fit inside a stretch limousine much less a Golf. But SBS does the duo a disservice by hyping the series as "side
splitting" and "hilarious". It isn't. But its gentle quirky humour made me smile. "

I missed most of it because of the bill, but the last few minutes were hysterical.
